My client Wharfedale Property are a family-owned business trading for over 50 years with an extensive portfolio of commercial premises, including warehouses/workshops/factories/offices/retail shops/leisure/land etc locally. They have a requirement for a Graduate/Assistant General Property Manager and the suitable candidate will be responsible for ensuring all our property portfolio is fully compliant and up to date. The position is office based but will also include attending site visits, carrying out property surveys and inspecting empty units. This is a role that would suit who has recently completed a degree and has an interest in Property.

The Job responsibilities of the Graduate/Assistant General property Manager

Supported by the current Property Manager

Manage property enquiries and schedule viewings

Maintaining the EPC’s register is up to date for each property, instructing EPC Surveyor to provide a Certificate and recommendations on how to improve the EPC rating

Updating the Schedule of Asbestos Surveys and Electrical Test Certificates

Insurance related compliance and all other details relating to (COPE)


Business Rates – Maintaining the Schedule of Rateable Values for all units, this may involve filing an appeal liaising with the Valuation Office, Rating Authorities and working with Surveyors

Issuing Head of Terms for the Landlord and Tenant

Preparation of Tenancy Agreements and Deed of Surrender documents

Visiting empty properties keeping a log and record of visits

Reporting any maintenance or security issues

Attend property surveys with the Insurance Brokers

Action recommendations for vacant property required by the Insurance Brokers

Action recommendations made to Tenants regarding Risk Improvements

Updating website with To Let properties along with monthly updates with news and blog releases

The Ideal candidate for the Graduate/Assistant General Property Manager will:

To have recently have completed a degree.

Interest in Property

Commutable to Birstall, West Yorkshire.

Excellent communication and organisation skills

Fluent in IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and understanding of how to find, sort and collate information from the internet

Full drivers’ licence
